I don’t feel that I need to rehash what’s going on. If you don’t know, head on over to the Horror Writers Association and read their statement regarding this individual.
I’ve posted about him before, several times. I’ve read his articles in Cemetery Dance, his essay in On Writing Horror, gone to a reading of his and enjoyed it, been to a writers retreat organized and run by him, and been published by him. That one hurts a bit, because that anthology won a Stoker, and I was always proud to say that I was in an award winning anthology.
I could say that over the several times I’ve met with him and worked with him, he’s always been cool to me. That’s true. But that’s not the only thing that matters to me.
I’ll be working to republish “In God’s Own Image” as soon as I’m able. In the meantime, I’ve removed the cover image, link, and description from my publications page. I considered removing or editing posts that I’ve written that refer to him. Instead, I offer this post to say that, in spite of the profound effect he has had on my writing career, I will no longer associate myself in any way with him.
