Did you know that every month, on the 13th, I write a 13 word story on this site. I write a new one every month. I bring this up for a couple reasons.
First, I’ve been heretofore unable to figure out how to notify folks when I update the page, since it’s a page, not an entry in my blog. I know this because my partner subscribed and followed so I could understand more what you all see from your end of things. So until I figure out how to notify people when I update with a new 13 word story, you should set a calendar reminder for yourselves to check it every month.
Second, I’m pretty proud of my 13 word stories. They’re often not stories in the sense that I usually define story. In fact, a lot of the time, they’re either reflective of what I’m working on or what’s happening in my personal life. If you have been reading them, you’ve probably noticed that several of them this past year have been about eyes. Well, there’s a reason for that. Actually, two reasons for that.
But back to the form, it’s usually difficult to write something using only 13 words. A lot of the time, I write what I want to say, then rewrite and edit until it’s 13 words. That makes the process like writing longer pieces. This is just more bite-sized.
Finally, I bring it up because today is the 13th, which means that there’s a new 13 word story. You can scroll to the top of the page right now, click on “13 Words” in the banner and go right there. If you do, I hope you enjoy the story. If you don’t, there will be a new one next month.
