A poem

Grief waits

Grief makes you a ghost

in your own life

Passing through days

in silence too loud

to hear your heartbeat

to know you’re still alive

too full of empty

And all you want is to not feel

anything

anymore

They say grief is love

without

They say grief

can be lived with

They say scars fade

But some wounds cut too deep

to be forgotten

Because these scars

are all I have left

of a love I have mourned

my whole life
